Nigeria has unveiled a 32-man squad for the second phase of their training camp, gearing up for the crucial two-legged CHAN qualifying matches against arch-rivals, Ghana in December.
Notices have been sent to most of the players, who are set to join the Super Eagles B team. Among the recent invitees are Remo Stars’ goalkeeper Kayode Bankole, Suur Kumaga from Lobi Stars, Ossu Martin, seasoned winger Bernard Ovoke, Aniekeme Okon, Ubong Friday of Rivers United, and Dominion Ohaka from U-23 and Water FC. Also included are Kano Pillars’ trio Abiam Nelson, Aminu Adams, and Sudais Alibaba.

The squad is expected to report to camp for rigorous preparations under coaches Fidelis Ikechukwu and Daniel Amokachi, with Augustine Eguavoen on an external assignment.
The team convened last Wednesday before returning to their respective clubs for weekend Nigeria Premier Football League matches. Their performance during the two-day camp session drew praise from interim Super Eagles coach and NFF Technical Director, Augustine Eguavoen, who noted their technical skill and promise.

“Very impressive—only two training sessions, but technically they’re very good,” Eguavoen commented via NFF TV. “We still have a lot of work to do, given they come from different clubs, but we’ll work on blending them into a unified team.”
The first leg of the Ghana-Nigeria showdown will take place between December 20-22, 2024, in Ghana, with the return leg set for the following week in Nigeria. The aggregate winner will secure a spot in the 2025 CHAN, co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
