An Air Peace flight bound for Lagos encountered a bird strike in the early hours of Thursday at Abuja airport, shortly before its scheduled take-off.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m., prompting the airline to execute a ramp return to ensure passenger safety.
In a statement, Ejike Ndiulo, Air Peace’s head of corporate communications, explained that the flight crew took immediate action, allowing all passengers to disembark safely.
“We wish to inform our esteemed passengers that our Abuja-Lagos 06:30 flight experienced a bird strike before take-off, prompting a ramp return as a safety measure. All passengers disembarked normally,” Ndiulo stated.
Air Peace swiftly deployed a replacement aircraft for the affected flight to minimize delays and ensure passengers could continue their journeys with minimal disruption. The airline expressed appreciation for passengers’ understanding and reiterated its commitment to providing safe, reliable, and comfortable air travel.
