The Super Eagles of Nigeria have qualified for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco even before their Group D clash against Benin in Abidjan, thanks to a surprising result in Kigali, where Rwanda fell 1-0 to Libya.

Following a goalless first half at the Amahoro Stadium, substitute Fahd Saad Mohamed scored the decisive goal in the 84th minute to give Libya the win.
This unexpected home loss leaves Rwanda with just five points from five matches, meaning that even a win over the Super Eagles on Monday in Uyo won’t be enough to surpass the three-time African champions.

Rwanda still has a chance to challenge Benin, who sit in second place with six points, though Benin’s match against Nigeria is still upcoming. Libya, currently at the bottom of the standings with four points, will host Benin in their final Group D game on Monday.
