Botswana is gearing up to host a distinguished assembly of African leaders, business executives, academics, young researchers, and experts for the highly anticipated 2024 African Economic Conference (AEC) from November 23-25.
Co-organized by the African Development Bank, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and the United Nations Development Programme, this flagship event will address pressing economic challenges under the theme: “Securing Africa’s Economic Future Amidst Rising Uncertainty.”
The conference aims to provide a critical platform for African nations to tackle immediate economic hurdles while strengthening resilience against escalating global pressures. Discussions will delve into the impact of uncertainty on Africa’s development, strategies for resilience through African-led solutions, innovative financing during turbulent times, and leveraging technology for predictive strategies on the continent.
A special focus will highlight the role of innovation and youth-driven initiatives in building economic resilience across various sectors. Additionally, a competition will celebrate outstanding research contributions from young African scholars.
