Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima has returned to Abuja after attending the opening ceremony of the 2024 International Exhibition of Extractive and Energy Resources in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

The conference, held at the Abidjan Exhibition Centre, focused on policies and strategies for the sustainable development of the extractive and energy sectors. It was organized by the Ivorian government and attended by key stakeholders from around the world.
Vice President Shettima participated at the invitation of Côte d’Ivoire’s Vice President, Tiémoko Meyliet Koné. The visit coincided with President Bola Tinubu’s state trip to France, following an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron.

The Presidency had announced on Tuesday that Tinubu would depart Abuja on Wednesday for the visit. As of now, President Tinubu has not yet returned to the country from his official engagement in France.
