In a related development, the police, in collaboration with sister security agencies, conducted coordinated raids on black spots and bandit camps across Sokoto State on November 25. These operations led to the recovery of several firearms, including AK-47 rifles, magazines, and live ammunition.

Additionally, officers in Delta State thwarted an attempted kidnapping in Asaba on November 28. Acting swiftly on a tip-off, the operatives pursued the suspects, engaging them in a gun battle. The assailants fled into the bush with injuries, abandoning their operational vehicle. A subsequent search uncovered three AK-47 rifles, two pump-action rifles, an AK-47 magazine, eight rounds of AR live ammunition, and 21 live cartridges.

Inspector-General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun commended the operatives for their bravery and commitment to safeguarding lives and property. He urged officers nationwide to remain vigilant and resolute in combating criminal activities.
