U.S. President Joe Biden, during a brief stopover in Cape Verde en route to Angola, declined to address reporters’ questions regarding the recent pardon granted to his son, Hunter Biden.

The president, who issued the pardon shortly after departing Washington, had been in the midst of a trip when reporters attempted to inquire about the decision. Hunter Biden had pleaded guilty to tax violations and faced a conviction on firearms-related charges.
