The Katsina State Police Command has apprehended Aminu Hassan, a suspected terrorism financier, for allegedly aiding armed bandits operating in Danmusa Local Government Area and surrounding communities.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police Abubakar Sadiq, announced the arrest in a statement on Tuesday.
The suspect was caught during a routine patrol along the Yan-tumaki and Kankara highway in Danmusa LGA on November 19th, possessing two pairs of military uniforms hidden in a black polythene bag.
Further investigation led to the arrest of three additional suspects: Lawal M Ahmad, 29, Isma’il Dalhatu, 24, and Shafi’u Adamu, 28.
These suspects were linked to the case and were found with 14 pairs of military uniforms and one police uniform, which are believed to be intended for use by armed bandits in their criminal activities.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime, and police officials stated that they will be charged to court once the investigation is concluded.
