President Bola Tinubu is set to present the 2025 budget to the joint assembly of the National Assembly next Tuesday, December 17.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio made the announcement during a plenary session on Thursday, stating that the budget presentation will take place at the House of Representatives’ chamber.
This development comes after President Tinubu submitted the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper for 2025-2027 to both the Senate and the House of Representatives last Tuesday.
The Senate Committee on Finance, National Planning, and Economic Affairs has been tasked with reviewing the documents and submitting a report within one week.
The 2025 budget proposal, valued at N47.9 trillion, was announced by the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.
However, the delay in presenting the budget has sparked controversy, with some lawmakers accusing the leadership of the National Assembly of rushing the process.
