Authorities of the Ogun State-owned Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) in Abeokuta have announced the closure of the institution starting today Monday, January 13, 2025, until further notice.
The decision to close the Polytechnic comes in response to ongoing protests by some students regarding the management’s move to verify their National Diploma (ND) results from their previous institutions.
A statement issued by the institution’s public relations officer, Yemi Ajibola, confirmed the closure and emphasized the need for the safety of lives and property on campus.

“Management has expressed its zero tolerance for fake results from any quarters,” Ajibola said.
As a result, students have been urged to stay off campus for their safety, with assurances to parents and the public that further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
The students’ protests also include allegations of increased tuition fees and delays in the mobilization of Higher National Diploma (HND) students for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
