President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the Chairman of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) under the Ministry of Aviation.
The announcement was made on Friday through a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
In addition to Ganduje’s appointment, President Tinubu unveiled chairpersons for 41 federal organizations, along with other key leadership positions, such as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation and the Director-General of the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI).
The President highlighted that board chairpersons are non-executive roles and urged the appointees to avoid interfering in the day-to-day management of the respective organizations.
The appointments, which take effect immediately, span critical sectors such as aviation, health, education, and infrastructure. Notable appointees include Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi as Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs and Dr. Kayode Isiak Opeifa as Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation.
This comprehensive overhaul reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening governance and driving progress in key federal agencies.
