Super Eagles of Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen has filed a lawsuit against Turkish journalist, Tolga Bozduman, who accused him of assault at an African restaurant two weeks ago.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, has been thriving in the Turkish Super Lig, spearheading the club’s campaigns in both the domestic league and the UEFA Europa League. However, his stellar form was overshadowed by the recent controversy.

Bozduman alleged that Osimhen assaulted him while attempting to take pictures of the striker following Galatasaray’s 3-3 draw against Dynamo Kyiv. Osimhen has vehemently denied the claims.

“I didn’t hit the journalists; they’re lying. Why are you flashing your face? You have to ask for permission for an interview. I told them to delete my photos. If I wanted to hit them, I would have,” Osimhen said in a video shared by Pesindeyiz Galatasaray.

In a new twist, Nigerian radio host, Buchi Laba revealed that Osimhen has filed a defamation lawsuit against the journalist. Speaking on the matter, Osimhen reportedly said, “If I hit him, he’s going to get justice. If he lied, he’s going to face the wrath of the law.”

Osimhen has been in scintillating form since joining Galatasaray last summer, scoring 16 goals and providing five assists in 21 appearances for the Turkish giants.
