African Leaders to Hold Emergency Summit on Eastern Congo Conflict

In a bid to address the escalating conflict in eastern Congo, regional blocs from southern and eastern Africa will convene for a joint summit in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on February 7-8. Kenya’s President William Ruto announced the summit on Monday, highlighting the urgent need for collective action to resolve the crisis.

The conflict in eastern Congo has raised concerns across the region, prompting leaders to seek a unified response.
