Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has suspended the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Samson Osagie, and the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Damian Lawani.

The suspension, announced by the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor, on Thursday, is in connection with allegations of “serious official and financial misconduct.” The suspension takes immediate effect and will remain in place until an investigation into the claims is concluded.
A statement revealed that the governor has set up an Investigative Committee to probe the allegations and make appropriate recommendations. The suspension is necessary to allow for a thorough investigation into the financial infractions alleged against the two officials, who were appointed less than three months ago.
