Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Ikorodu City FC has strengthened its squad by unveiling 12 new players for the remainder of the 2024/2025 season. The unveiling ceremony took place on Monday at the club secretariat, Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

The club’s Director of Media and Communications, Samuel Bamisebi, stated that the additions were made to address the team’s needs following mid-season transfer movements.

“With movements in the mid-season transfer window, we had to register new players to see out the remainder of the season with both short and long-term contracts,” Bamisebi explained.

“We registered 12 players—seven newly signed professionals and five promoted from our academy.”

The seven newly signed players are:

  • Wisdom Ubani
  • Manaseh Gideon
  • Oladimeji Dada
  • Victor Ejukah
  • Nasiru Suleiman
  • Pere Anderson
  • Sunday Raimi

The five academy graduates making the step up to the senior team are:

  • Kammonke Willie
  • Sheu Agboola
  • Musa Malik
  • Joseph George
  • Chiemerie Ezeaka

The Lagos-based club celebrated the unveiling with a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory over Kwara United in their NPFL Matchday 23 clash at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Sunday.

Despite conceding early in the 2nd minute when Junior Aimufua put Kwara United ahead, Ikorodu City FC quickly responded. Toyeeb Ajeyigbe equalized in the 7th minute after a precise low cross from captain Waliu Ojetoye.

The winning goal came in the 64th minute, with Shola Adelani netting a brilliant near-post header, sealing all three points for the home team.

With the squad now reinforced, Ikorodu City FC looks set to push for a strong finish in the NPFL season.
