Adejobi disclosed that the operation targeted an ESN camp and led to the deaths of two high-ranking members of the group.

Security operatives recovered a cache of weapons, including seven AK-47 rifles, thirteen pump-action guns, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

As part of a follow-up operation on February 9, 2025, law enforcement officers moved into the Nkwukwo Forest in Mbaitoli LGA, bordering Ubachima Forest in Awomama Oru West LGA.

Upon encountering a group of armed individuals, the suspects opened fire, prompting a gunfight. In the exchange, three additional ESN members were neutralized. Authorities recovered two AK-47 rifles loaded with live ammunition, a pump-action gun, a cutlass, four motorcycles, and various charms believed to be used for protection.

Adejobi emphasized that these operations demonstrate the police force’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks that threaten public safety.

Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun commended the officers for their bravery and stressed the importance of continued vigilance, intelligence gathering, and community participation in combating crime.
