The U.S. Mission in Nigeria has announced that its Embassy in Abuja and Consulate General in Lagos will be closed on Monday, February 17, 2025, in observance of Presidents’ Day.
In a statement posted on its official X page, the mission confirmed that normal operations will resume on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
Presidents’ Day, observed annually on the third Monday of February, was originally established to honor George Washington’s birthday. The federal holiday has since evolved to recognize all U.S. presidents.
