A notorious bandit hideout known as “Dabar Dan Dari Biyar,” located in Sakkarawa Forest, western Sabon Birni, has been destroyed in a major military offensive by troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, working in collaboration with local vigilantes and community defense groups.
The raid, which took place on February 17, 2025, resulted in heavy casualties among the bandits. According to intelligence sources, some criminals, including their leader, managed to escape despite suffering significant losses. Security forces remain in pursuit of the fleeing gang members.
A survivor recently rescued from captivity at the infamous Gwali Gwali camp, run by bandit leader Kachalla Dan Dari Biyar, recounted his harrowing ordeal. The victim revealed that the criminals had been planning to deliver a ransom payment of two million naira along with a motorcycle to Boko Haram fighters this Thursday in exchange for hostages.
He also provided insight into the layout of the hideout, describing it as an organized base with designated seating areas and makeshift beds for the criminals.
Other vital intelligence gathered from the rescued victim has been handed over to security agencies for further action. Meanwhile, security forces have intensified their operations to track down the remaining criminals and clear the area of bandit presence.
