In a decisive operation, Nigerian Army troops, in collaboration with a hybrid force, successfully neutralized nine insurgents belonging to the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) and Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati Wal-Jihad (JAS) in Borno State.
The raid, which took place on February 17, 2025, at approximately 6 a.m. in Iza, Bama Local Government Area, resulted in a fierce firefight that lasted several hours.
The troops ultimately emerged victorious, killing nine insurgents while others fled the scene.
Following the operation, the troops recovered various weapons, further crippling the insurgents’ capabilities.
