The National President of the Afenifere National Youth Council, Prince Eniola Joseph Ojajuni, has made a desperate plea for help after being abducted by gunmen who have threatened to kill him if a N100 million ransom is not paid by 3 p.m. today (Monday).
In a video sighted by AAN TV, a kidnapper is seen pointing an AK-47 at Ojajuni’s chest as he appeals to Nigerians to contribute whatever they can to secure his release.
Exhausted and visibly distressed, he pleads, “Nigerians, please help me! Your donation—N100,000, N50,000, or N1,000,000—can go a long way in saving my life.”
The kidnappers had previously issued a 48-hour ultimatum, warning that they would kill him if the ransom was not paid. In an audio recording between the family and the abductors, Ojajuni revealed that he had already been shot in the buttock.
The family attempted to negotiate, offering N10 million, but the kidnappers refused, insisting that only N100 million would secure his release.
During the negotiations, the kidnappers shockingly claimed that they had been paid N50 million to kidnap and kill him. “We were instructed to cut off his head, his manhood, and remove his eyes for them to collect,” one of them said.
Ojajuni, who was kidnapped on February 17, explained how the incident happened. “I was supposed to travel that day but rescheduled my flight. When I finally left for my meeting at the Abuja Chamber of Commerce, we were attacked between Ondo and Kabba. They shot at us. I’m bleeding now,” he told his family.
In a final plea, he urged them to contact Nigerian activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju for help. “They have given me 48 hours. If the ransom is not paid, they will kill me,” he said.
The Afenifere National Youths Council has called on Nigerian authorities to act swiftly to secure Ojajuni’s release. “We are deeply concerned about his safety and well-being,” said National Secretary Abiodun Aderohunmu. “We urge the kidnappers to release him unharmed and call on the public to assist in any way possible.”
The situation remains critical as the ransom deadline approaches, with Ojajuni’s fate hanging in the balance.
