A devastating attack by armed bandits has left at least 20 people dead in four communities in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The affected communities, Aba Alajido, Aba Sunday, Aba Pastor, and Ademekun, were invaded at midnight, forcing residents to flee for safety. Eyewitnesses claim the death toll could be higher, with many still missing.

The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the attack and deployed officers to restore order and investigate the incident.

The communities have been battling attacks from herdsmen for six years, and the Regent of Ademekun Community has called on the state government and security agencies to intervene urgently to protect the affected communities.
