Four Super Eagles players, Victor Osimhen, Bruno Onyemaechi, Papa Daniel Mustapha, and Kayode Bankole were the first to arrive at Nigeria’s camp ahead of the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda.

The players were spotted at Kigali International Airport in a video shared on the team’s social media handles. Head coach Eric Chelle and team officials welcomed them for the camping session ahead of Friday’s showdown.

“Early arrival of Super Eagles officials and four players – Victor Osimhen, Bruno Onyemaechi, Papa Daniel Mustapha, and Kayode Bankole,” the team posted on social media early Monday. Amas Obasogie and Tolu Arokodare have also joined the team.

Osimhen, who has been in top form this season, is expected to spearhead Nigeria’s attack as they seek their first win in the qualifiers.

Coach Eric Chelle, who recently took over as the Super Eagles’ head coach, has named a 23-man squad for the fixtures against Rwanda and Zimbabwe. Nigeria faces Zimbabwe in another Group C World Cup qualifier in Nigeria next Tuesday.

Nigeria currently sits fourth in the five-team group, with just three points from four matches. With leaders Rwanda four points ahead, the Super Eagles risk missing their second consecutive World Cup after failing to qualify for Qatar 2022.

More players are expected to join the camp as Nigeria intensifies preparations to revive their qualification hopes and secure a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
