The 2025 TotalEnergies CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations has reached a critical juncture, with the group phase wrapped up and the eight quarter-finalists confirmed in Morocco. With all remaining teams securing qualification for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, the focus now shifts to four knockout clashes that will determine who moves on to the semi-finals — and one step closer to continental glory.

Burkina Faso, one of the standout teams of the group stage, progressed with a flawless record—three wins from three. The Baby Stallions will kick off the quarter-final action on Thursday, April 10, facing Zambia at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca at 17:00 GMT. Confidence will be high in the West African camp, but Zambia will be determined to spoil the party.

Later that night, hosts Morocco, buoyed by a commanding 5-0 win over Uganda, will take on South Africa in Mohammedia (20:00 GMT). The North Africans are hoping to ride the wave of home support, but the Amajimbos — known for their attacking flair — are eyeing a major upset and a place in the final four.

On Friday, April 11, the drama continues with Côte d’Ivoire facing defending champions Senegal in what many are calling the match of the round. The Ivorian side, the tournament’s most prolific in front of goal, will lock horns with a Senegalese team rich in talent and title experience at the Municipal Stadium in Berrechid (17:00 GMT).

The final fixture of the quarter-finals pits Tunisia against Mali at the El Abdi Stadium in El Jadida (20:00 GMT). Both sides have shown tactical discipline and defensive solidity, setting the stage for a tightly contested battle that could be decided by a moment of brilliance.

As the knockout stage begins, the stakes have never been higher. One slip could end the dream, while victory could pave the way to continental stardom and global recognition. For these young stars, the U-17 AFCON is not just about silverware—it’s a gateway to the world stage, where scouts, clubs, and nations take notice.
