Suspected Boko Haram terrorists launched a deadly attack on the newly resettled Yamtake community in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, killing two soldiers and an unspecified number of civilians.
The attack occurred on Thursday night when the terrorists stormed the area, targeting a military formation.
Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South Senatorial District, confirmed the attack and expressed sorrow over the renewed violence, commending the military for their efforts in thwarting further violence.
The lawmaker also called for enhanced community-based defense strategies and greater federal intervention to combat the over decade-long insurgency.
