Former Delta State Governor and 2023 PDP vice presidential candidate, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) alongside Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the entire PDP structure in the state.
The mass defection was announced after an enlarged stakeholders’ meeting at the Government House in Asaba.
Senator James Manager confirmed the move, stating that all PDP members in the state, including the governor, former Governor Okowa, and other key officials, have agreed to join the APC.
Okowa had earlier assured supporters that he would choose the best path forward for the people.
The defection is expected to have significant political implications ahead of the 2027 general elections.
This move marks a major shift in Delta State’s politics, with potential repercussions for both the PDP and APC.
