A drone strike by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on a displacement camp in Sudan’s River Nile state has killed at least 11 people, with 23 others injured.
The camp, home to 179 families displaced by fighting in the capital, was hit by multiple missiles, setting some tents on fire.
The attack also targeted the regional power station for the fourth time, further disrupting the country’s already strained electrical grid.
The RSF has denied carrying out drone attacks, but the strikes have become increasingly frequent, plunging millions into weeks-long blackouts.
Residents described the aftermath of the attack, with some families burned beyond recognition in their tents. “We had left Khartoum fearful of the war, and now the war has followed us here,” said teacher Mashair Hemeidan.
Authorities have since dismantled the camp, with residents boarding buses to an unknown location.
