His release was confirmed in a statement issued on Friday by the Chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, Reverend Father Jacob Shanet, who revealed that Father Amos regained his freedom around 10 p.m. on the same day.

The Diocese expressed gratitude to security agencies and members of the public for their prayers and overwhelming support during the period of the abduction.

Father Shanet emphasized that the solidarity and prayers demonstrated during the ordeal underscored a shared commitment to the protection and dignity of human life.

Father Amos was taken from his residence in the early hours of Thursday, prompting swift concern and widespread calls for his safe return.
