Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has announced an increase in the minimum wage for state workers from ₦70,000 to ₦75,000.
The governor made the announcement during the 2025 Workers’ Day celebration at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
Okpebholo said the new minimum wage is a way of appreciating the hard work and dedication of Edo workers, and he expects renewed dedication from them as the state builds a better future.
The governor also highlighted his administration’s commitment to the welfare of workers, citing the conversion of casual workers to core civil service and the recruitment of new teachers and healthcare professionals.
