Nine people lost their lives and seven others were injured after a condemned residential building collapsed late Thursday in the Al-Hassani district of Fez, northern Morocco, local authorities confirmed on Friday.
Officials said several of the injured are in serious condition, while rescue teams continue to search the rubble for any additional victims.

The multi-storey building had previously been declared unsafe, and residents had reportedly received evacuation notices before the collapse. As a precaution, nearby homes have also been evacuated.
This incident follows a similar tragedy in February 2023, when five people were killed in a building collapse in Fez’s historic old town.
