President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Rome, Italy, to join other world leaders at the solemn mass marking the beginning of the Pontificate of Pope Leo XIV, the 267th Bishop of Rome and the new leader of the Roman Catholic Church.

The President was received at the Mario De Bernardo Military Airport by Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu and officials from Vatican City and the Nigerian Embassy.
Tinubu’s entourage includes several high-ranking Catholic clergy members from Nigeria.
The Pope had extended a personal invitation to Tinubu, citing the need for his presence at this moment of importance for the Catholic Church and the world.
