Nelson Adepoyigi, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, has been killed by his captors.
Adepoyigi was abducted on Monday evening at the entrance of his house, and his captors had initially demanded a ransom of N100 million, which was later negotiated to N5 million.
However, in a dramatic twist, two ransom bearers were detained by the bandits, who then made a fresh demand of N30 million.
The APC chairman was eventually killed, while the two ransom bearers were released.
The local government chairman has extended condolences to Adepoyigi’s family, friends, and political associates, and a crack team of security agencies is currently searching for his corpse.
