President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan welcomed Süper Lig champions, Galatasaray to the Dolmabahçe Presidential Office on Thursday, honoring the club’s record-breaking 25th league title with a special reception in Istanbul.

Erdoğan greeted each player and coach personally, shaking hands and offering congratulations to the yellow-red squad that secured the historic fifth star on their crest – a milestone unmatched in Turkish football.

“This title is not just a victory on the pitch; it is a source of national pride,” Erdoğan said during the event. “We always stand behind our clubs that raise our flag high through their success, both on and off the field.”
One of the most memorable moments of the reception came when Galatasaray’s top scorer, Victor Osimhen, presented the president with his jersey, earning an appreciative gesture in return. The symbolic act added a personal touch to an already emotional occasion.

The ceremony also marked a farewell to two club legends, Fernando Muslera and Dries Mertens, both of whom are departing after leaving a lasting legacy at Galatasaray. Erdoğan took time to meet with the veteran stars, acknowledging their contributions to the club’s success.
Galatasaray’s 25th championship win not only secured domestic glory but also reinforced their status as Turkish football’s most decorated team.
