Egypt and Manchester City Forward Omar Marmoush’s stunning solo goal against Bournemouth has been crowned the Premier League’s Goal of the Season.

The Egyptian international produced a moment of magic earlier this month, picking up the ball just inside Bournemouth’s half, driving forward with purpose, and unleashing a thunderous, dipping shot that crashed in off the post and into the top corner. The spectacular strike came just 14 minutes into the club’s final home game of the season at the Etihad Stadium.

The goal capped off an impressive debut half-season for Marmoush following his January move from Eintracht Frankfurt. In just 16 Premier League appearances, he scored seven goals and made a quick impact, including a memorable hat-trick against Newcastle United in February after coming off the bench.
Marmoush also found the net against Brighton and Crystal Palace, but it was his long-range rocket against Bournemouth that captured the imagination of fans and pundits alike.

His award-winning strike beat out strong competition from Chelsea stars Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson, Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran, Fulham’s Harry Wilson, Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, Bournemouth’s David Brooks, Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma and Carlos Baleba, and Ipswich’s Jens Cajuste.
The goal has also been nominated for the club’s Nissan Goal of the Season award, further underlining Marmoush’s impact in his debut campaign.

Fans can now purchase the official Omar Marmoush #7 shirt to celebrate the forward’s breakout season.
