The bus, belonging to the Kano state sports commission, crashed at the Dakatsalle Bridge.

Survivors of the crash have been rushed to Kura General Hospital for emergency medical treatment, while rescue operations continue to determine the exact number of injured persons.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar expressed deep sorrow over the deaths, describing the victims as “the very best of our nation—dedicated, talented, and full of promise.”

He called for stricter safety measures to prevent such tragedies and extended his condolences to the bereaved families, the Kano state government, and Nigeria’s sporting community.
