A bomb explosion has killed four travellers along the Damboa-Maiduguri road in Borno State, northeastern Nigeria.
The blast occurred around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, involving a car carrying an unspecified number of passengers.
Apart from the four fatalities, several others sustained injuries. This incident is the latest in a series of bomb explosions reported along the road, which has been plagued by insurgent activities.
The road is often used by commuters with military escorts, but insurgents frequently plant bombs to deter usage.
President Bola Tinubu has condemned the bombing, expressing sympathy with the victims of a similar explosion in Kano.
The incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in the region, where insurgents continue to pose a significant threat to civilians and travellers.
