The Muslim Community of Lagos State has extended heartfelt greetings to Muslims across the state and beyond as they mark the beginning of the new Islamic year, 1447 AH.
In a message released by the community, President Hon. Muhammed Bello Oyinlomo Danmole and Public Relations Officer Alhaji Jubril Folami reflected on the spiritual significance of the Hijrah—commemorating the Prophet Muhammad’s (ﷺ) historic migration—and urged Muslims to draw inspiration from its enduring values of courage, sacrifice, and steadfast faith.
“This is a moment for deep reflection and a renewal of our commitment to Islamic principles such as justice, compassion, truthfulness, and unity,” the statement read.
Calling for renewed efforts in building peaceful, spiritually grounded, and compassionate communities, the community leaders encouraged Muslims to enter the new year with purified intentions and stronger bonds of brotherhood.
The message concluded with prayers for divine guidance and blessings for the state, its leaders, families, and the global Muslim Ummah.
“May 1447 AH be a year of peace, prosperity, progress, and spiritual elevation for us all. Āmīn,” the statement read.
The message was signed by Hon. Danmole and Alhaji Folami on behalf of the entire Muslim Community of Lagos State.
