Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has completed a permanent move from Southampton to Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor, the English club confirmed on Friday.
In a statement posted on their official website, Southampton said, “Southampton Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed with Trabzonspor for the transfer of striker Paul Onuachu.”

The 31-year-old departs St Mary’s after a two-and-a-half-year stint in which he netted four goals in 40 appearances for the Saints. He returns to Trabzonspor, where he impressed during a loan spell in the 2023/24 season, scoring 15 goals in 21 matches.
“We thank Paul for his efforts during his time as a Saints player and wish him well,” the club added.

Onuachu joined Southampton in January 2023 from Belgian side Genk but struggled to make a lasting impact as the club was eventually relegated from the Premier League.

Southampton, along with Ipswich Town and Leicester City, will play in the English Championship next season.
On the international stage, Onuachu made his debut for Nigeria in 2019 and has earned 24 caps, scoring three goals. He was also part of the Super Eagles squad that finished as runners-up at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
