Nigerian sprint sensations Favour Ofili and Rosemary Chukwuma are set to light up the track at the 2025 ATX Sprint Classic, taking place Saturday, June 28, at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. The duo will compete in a highly anticipated women’s 100m race featuring several of the world’s fastest sprinters.

Favour Ofili returns to action for the first time since grabbing headlines in May with a world record-breaking 15.85s run in the women’s 150m at the Adidas Atlanta City Games. The 22-year-old, who also holds Nigeria’s national 200m record (21.96s), boasts a season-best 100m time of 10.94s, making her a top contender for the title.
Meanwhile, 23-year-old Chukwuma arrives in peak form after clocking 11.03s at the Star Athletics Sprint Series in Florida earlier this month— a performance that secured her qualification for the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo. Her recent form has firmly established her as one of Nigeria’s leading sprint stars.
The women’s 100m field at the ATX Sprint Classic is stacked with talent. Ofili and Chukwuma will be joined by Olympic medallist Gabby Thomas, who holds a season-best of 11.00s, as well as Aleia Hobbs and Kayla White, the latter of whom is also set to compete in the 200m with a strong 22.01s showing this season.
International contenders such as Tamara Clark and Bahamian speedster Terrence Jones—who has already run 9.91s in the men’s 100m this year—will also take part, alongside hurdles specialists Christina Clemons, Rayniah Jones, and Michael Dickson.

Nigerian-American sprinter Elijah Godwin is among the athletes set to compete in the men’s sprint events.
The one-day meet will feature a packed schedule, beginning with preliminary heats in the hurdles and 100m before culminating in finals across the 100m, 200m, and 400m distances.
