There is a heightened security presence at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national headquarters in Abuja, with armed policemen deployed ahead of the party’s crucial National Executive Committee meeting scheduled for today.
The police presence has sparked concerns, with a party official claiming that the officers were sent to prevent the proposed Expanded Caucus Meeting from taking place, although some staff members were allowed to enter the premises without resistance.
The area around Wadata Plaza has been cordoned off by the police, restricting access to the road leading to the party’s secretariat.
