Nigeria’s elder statesman and business icon, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, is set to be buried today in the holy city of Madinah, Saudi Arabia, after passing away at 94 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu extended his condolences to the family, with Minister of Defence Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar leading a delegation to Madinah for the burial.
The delegation includes other top government officials, such as the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, and the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris.
The family has expressed profound gratitude for the Federal Government’s condolence visit, which was conveyed in a statement by Rabiu Ibrahim, Special Assistant (Media) to the Minister of Information and National Orientation.
Islamic clerics, including Bashir Aliyu Umar and Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, also offered prayers for the repose of the late patriarch.
Nigeria’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and other diplomatic officials were present to pay their respects.
