Ghana’s consumer inflation rate has slowed for the sixth consecutive month, reaching 13.7% year-on-year in June, its lowest level since December 2021.
According to government statistician Alhassan Iddrisu, the downward trend indicates a sustained slowdown in prices, providing relief to households and businesses.
Food inflation dropped to 16.3% from 22.8% in May, which could significantly impact the average Ghanaian’s cost of living.
The central bank is expected to announce its next monetary policy decision later this month, amid Ghana’s economic recovery efforts.
