Ghanaian forward Kamaldeen Sulemana has completed a move from Southampton to Serie A side Atalanta in a deal worth up to £18 million.

According to BBC Sport sources, the agreement includes a sell-on clause in favour of the Saints, ensuring future financial benefit should the 23-year-old be sold again.

Sulemana joined Southampton from Rennes on transfer deadline day in February 2023 for a then club-record £22 million fee. Over two and a half seasons on the south coast, he made 74 appearances, scoring four goals and providing seven assists.

At Atalanta, Sulemana reunites with former Southampton manager Ivan Juric, who recently took charge of the Italian club.
His exit follows the earlier departure of Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu, another signing made in the same transfer window under former Saints boss Nathan Jones.
