The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has attributed the delay in payment of June 2025 salaries for some federal civil servants to a technical glitch encountered during processing.

In a statement on Friday, the Director of Press and Public Relations, Bawa Mokwa, confirmed that the issue particularly affected workers whose salary accounts are domiciled with Zenith Bank.

“Upon investigation, it was discovered that the salary payments for employees across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) were affected due to a technical network glitch during processing at the bank,” the statement read.

The OAGF acknowledged the frustration and anxiety caused by the delay, assuring affected employees that corrective measures are being urgently taken.

“We deeply regret the inconvenience this unfortunate incident has caused and wish to assure all affected employees that immediate steps have been taken to resolve the issue. We are working closely with the relevant service providers and stakeholders to ensure the failed payments are reprocessed without further delay,” Mokwa added.

He emphasized that concrete actions are already underway to isolate the problem, and that the affected payments will be reprocessed in the shortest possible time.

The OAGF reiterated its commitment to transparency, accountability, and efficient payroll operations, assuring public servants that their welfare remains a top priority.

“We appeal to all affected staff of the Federal Public Service to remain calm and rest assured that no effort will be spared in ensuring everyone receives their rightful salaries,” the statement concluded.
