President Bola Tinubu will today depart Abuja for Kano to commiserate with the government and people of Kano State, as well as the family of late business mogul and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, who passed away in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on June 28.
Dantata, a revered figure in Nigerian commerce and philanthropy, died at the age of 94. He was laid to rest beside his late wife at the historic Al-Baqi Cemetery in Madina, Saudi Arabia, on July 1.

President Tinubu, who was out of the country at the time of the elder statesman’s passing, had earlier directed a delegation of ministers — led by the Minister of Defence — to attend the funeral rites in Saudi Arabia as a mark of honour to the late Dantata.
During his visit to Kano, the President is expected to pay a condolence visit to the Dantata family and also meet with state officials to personally express his sympathies over the loss of one of the state’s most distinguished sons.
