Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has reaffirmed her decision to resume her duties at the Senate on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, despite an appeal filed by Senate President Godswill Akpabio challenging a court judgment
that ordered her reinstatement.
Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended by the Senate on March 6 for allegedly breaching its rules, following her accusation of sexual harassment against Akpabio.
She challenged the suspension in court, and in July, the High Court in Abuja ruled in her favor, ordering the Senate to lift her suspension.
Despite the ongoing appeal, Akpoti-Uduaghan insists she will return to the Senate, citing the court’s decision as valid.
She expressed her commitment to fulfilling her legislative duties, particularly sponsoring bills and motions, which were hindered during her suspension.
