Nigeria, Egypt Sign MOU To Boost Aviation Cooperation Deal

Nigeria and Egypt have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen bilateral cooperation in the aviation sector, marking a significant step in strengthening relations between the two countries.

The agreement followed a review of the Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) and is aimed at enhancing regional connectivity, expanding technical collaboration, and exploring joint investments in civil aviation infrastructure.

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, hailed the MoU as a “historic milestone” that signals a new chapter of collaboration and shared prosperity between Nigeria and Egypt. He emphasized that the partnership will help unlock new opportunities in service delivery, route expansion, and aviation development across Africa.

Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, who was present at the signing, expressed appreciation for the warm reception and delivered greetings from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening its ties with Nigeria, especially in the commercial and aviation sectors.

The partnership is expected to not only deepen cooperation between both nations but also foster improved trade, investment, and regional integration across the continent.
