The Nigerian Senate has announced plans to hold a special session on Wednesday to pay tribute to the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away recently.
The session will reflect on his legacy and contributions to national development.
This decision follows a special session held by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) last week, where President Bola Tinubu praised Buhari’s leadership, describing him as a leader who governed with dignity and restraint.
Buhari, Nigeria’s second-longest-serving leader, served as president from 2015 to 2023 and head of state from 1983 to 1985.
He was buried last week in Daura, Katsina State, in a ceremony attended by dignitaries from within and outside Nigeria.
