A 20-year-old fresh graduate of Information Technology from Babcock University, Ilisan Remo, Akawa Boluwatife Samuel, has been found dead in his hostel room.
According to reports, Samuel’s roommates brought him to the Babcock University Teaching Hospital on Wednesday, where he was pronounced dead by the medical doctor on duty.
The police investigation revealed that Samuel had complained of feeling unwell and experiencing difficulty breathing on July 27, and was advised to visit the University Medical Centre. On the night before his death, Samuel was reportedly in good spirits, playing games on his laptop until around 11 p.m.
However, he was found unresponsive by his roommates the next morning.
The police have taken photographs of the scene, recorded statements from Samuel’s roommate and elder brother, and deposited the body at the university morgue for autopsy. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of death.
