The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted several consignments of cocaine and tramadol hidden in vehicle side mirrors, lipsticks, and footwear in a series of operations across Lagos, Abuja, and other states.
At the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, operatives seized a shipment of 57,420 pills of tramadol and 57 pellets of cocaine weighing 1.60kg concealed in 71 vehicle side mirrors, destined for Libreville, Gabon.
The agency also arrested several suspects, including Ihekweme Osinachi Benedict, Uzochukwu Godspower Chukwurah, and Nwafor Roseann Nneka, who was caught with cocaine and phenacetine hidden in lipsticks bound for Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
Other operations led to the arrest of dispatch riders in Abuja with Canadian Loud, a potent cannabis strain, and the seizure of large quantities of skunk and tramadol in various states, including Benue, Edo, and Oyo.
The NDLEA chairman commended officers for their efforts and urged continued commitment to tackling drug trafficking and abuse.
