Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has dismissed two senior aides, Abubakar Umar Sharada and Tasiu Adamu Al’amin Roba, over alleged misconduct.
Sharada, Senior Special Assistant on Political Mobilisation, was accused of masterminding the bail of notorious drug baron Sulaiman Aminu Danwawu, while Roba, Senior Special Assistant in the Cabinet Office, was found guilty of rebagging palliative grains at a warehouse in Sharada in 2024.
Both aides have been ordered to return government properties by August 11, 2025, and warned against presenting themselves as public officials.
The governor emphasized his administration’s commitment to discipline, transparency, and zero tolerance for corruption, warning public officials to uphold the highest standards of integrity.
The state government also cautioned the public against engaging with the sacked aides on any matter related to government business, stating that anyone who does so acts at their own risk. Meanwhile, Hon. Musa Ado Tsamiya, Special Adviser on Drainages, was exonerated after an investigative committee cleared him of all allegations.
Governor Yusuf’s directive follows damning findings from investigative committees probing the separate cases.
The dismissed aides are facing charges, with Roba arraigned in court for theft and criminal conspiracy.
The governor’s action demonstrates his administration’s unwavering stance against corruption and misconduct.
